I believe in promoting all events, businesses & skaters. I believe that everyone has a right to offer a service, event or product.

Additionally, I practice what I preach. For example, the site will not only promote its own merchandise, but also the merchandise of other skaters as well. We are already doing this. It’s not about competition!  We’ve got to learn that the priority is to shine a light on skating. The overall result is what we should be aiming for. To approach this as a quick grab for personal gain or fame is not only shortsighted, it’s counterproductive. The more attention given to skating overall, the more every skater benefits.

The only thing Sk8LikeYou will not support is negativity in any form. To guard against negative influence, I will offer it as a forum for skaters or businesses that meet the following criteria:

1. We have firsthand knowledge of quality and or consistent positive influence.

2. Long term reputable business within skate community. (new business with little to know credibility with skate community will work with Sk8LikeYou to prove their reliability through firsthand product/service testing)

3. Shared vision of advancing skate culture as a vehicle of fun, community & outreach to new skaters.

Sk8LikeYou will never promote a product, service or platform that hasn’t either already proven itself among the skate community or we have not vetted personally.  Please know that we NEVER want to inhibit anyone’s ability to contribute to skating. We NEVER want to stand in the way of entrepreneurial spirit. If you offer a newer product or service or it is unknown or not yet established, then we want to help you. We ask that you work with us by sending products to be tested. When we are able to vouch for you, we will!  Additionally, if we don’t believe it meets our standards for recommendation, we will NOT publicize negative reviews. We won’t speak on it at all.  We believe that promoting things we believe in is our only job!

EVERYONE that knows me within the skate world will tell you that if I believe in something, I will promote it more than most. Since returning to skating myself, I have volunteered my time & effort in any way I can. I can say without ANY hesitation that when it comes to spreading the word on events, DJs, products or services, I have always gone above & beyond even before Sk8LikeYou.

Sk8LikeYou hopes to build our own high degree of credibility within the skate world. This doesn’t happen overnight. And this will never happen without implementing reasonable standards to ensure we offer the best information & access to resources as possible.

Lastly, this should not be interpreted as a sign of succumbing to negativity. It is merely a message of transparency so that everyone knows what I stand for. It will serve as the single thing I can point to when questions or concerns arise rather than focusing on anything other than my vision & overall goal of Sk8LikeYou.
